Ever since the All Saint Concert Band started it has performed for schools, fete’s and churches to help raise funds. For several years now the band has concentrated on more formal (but fun) concerts and events working for specific charities to help raise both funds and awareness for their campaigns.
As well as raising money for charities the band has also helped raise money for individuals with specific needs. One of our most successful concerts raised over £1000 for a young boy with autism. This money was used to help send him and his family to the Options Institute in America. The concert was a sell out and members of the family participated by performing and narrating while the band played Peter and the Wolf. Two award winning dancers who were family friends danced to the bands performance of Lord of the Dance. We have since performed 2 further concerts for the National Autistic Society.
In recent years we have played for the MS society more than any other. As well as formal concerts we have entertained crowds at fun runs, played in Croydon and Sutton High Street as well as in Shopping Centres.
The band has also performed for Scope, The Royal Marsden Hospital, Toy Box, St Christopher’s Hospice and Christian Aid.
The band enjoys performing for charities, especially as these events often draw a large audience. In recent years we have helped raise an average of £5000 a year for the various charities.
The band is always looking to perform for charities as well as helping individuals raise funds, so please contact us for further information to see if we can help. |
